Atomic Emission Spectrometry
Jan Hein Hooijschuur
Abstract Atomic Emission Spectrometry (AES) is an analytical procedure for the qualitative and quantitative determination of chemical elements using the emission of electromagnetic radiation (light) by free atoms in the gaseous phase heated in a flame or plasma. It is a very sensitive mode for the determination of the amount of metals in a sample.
